Engrossed in a new book (The Lost City of the Monkey God, by Douglas Preston), I happened to swivel my head around and catch a glimpse of the fading sunset out of my living room window. In a rush, I grabbed my rain jacket and my camera’s Pelican case and threw them in the truck and roared off to the NW to try to get to a vantage point to capture the mood. Big, spring rain drops were thundering out of the clouds as I found a beautiful spot along the Snohomish Slough a few miles from my house. I parked right in front of a “No Parking At Any Time” sign and shrugged my rain jacket on and jumped from the truck to grab a few snaps just as the sunset lost its doomed fight with the clouds and the earth’s rotation. Thank you for weather-sealing your lenses and camera, Fuji!
